Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens
Once famous for its cotton and pecans, one of the oldest plantations in the United States is now renowned for its stunning wedding and event backdrops. The Antebellum plantation dates back to 1861 and has earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Couples are drawn to the Mt. Pleasant property’s Avenue of Oaks, a three-quarter-mile stretch of 270-year-old giant live oaks draped with Spanish moss. The enchanting setting sings with a historic mansion, the iconic Cotton Dock, majestic lawns and patios flanked by idyllic tidal marshes (you may recognize Boone Hall Plantation from The Notebook).
Weddings flow between Boone Hall’s breathtaking settings with ease as professional staff work diligently to make each moment everything you want it to be. Design your dream outdoor ceremony under the side lawn’s dramatic moss-draped ancient oaks with branches creating an intimate fairytale canopy over you and your guests. Move to the rustic wooden Cotton Dock for cocktail hour backed by an iconic tidal marsh setting on the banks of the Wamponcheeoone Creek. Guests will swoon over the mansion’s majestic front lawn, intimate patio, spacious back lawn and beautiful gardens surrounding the house. Close out your celebration with dinner and dancing under the grand Pavilion clam shell tent on the picturesque back lawn where live oaks and the Southern stars meet you with reverence.
