A Luxury Italian-Style Villa in the Blue Ridge Foothills

When Jennifer Price built her dream home in 2014, she never imagined it would morph into a luxury Italian-style wedding venue that she would share with the world. In fact, her original Southern Living floor plans outlined a modern farmhouse. And then she watched the 2006 Russell Crowe film A Good Year and the entire trajectory of her life changed.

“I had an out-of-body experience, where you just know something is life altering,” Jennifer says. “So I watched the movie again that same night. Studying the architecture, the layout, the land. The next morning I called my builder and said game change. I want a completely different house.”
The romantic comedy laid out what was to become Monte Ventoso, an Italian villa filled with love, laughter and al fresco family dinners with endless wine. For Jennifer, it was all meant to be.
“When I saw those things in the movie, I thought ‘that’s exactly what I’m trying to create, a place to share life’s best moments,’” she says.
Today, Monte Ventoso is a serene secluded estate welcoming guests for vacation and wedding weekends. A picturesque scene straight out of Tuscany, the romantic haven unfolds among meticulously landscaped grounds, a formal boxwood garden, stoic statues, seasonal florals, arbors and strung lighting, emitting palpable elegant Old World charm.
Jennifer invites couples to savor exclusive use of the entire 17-acre property. Host family and friends for a wedding weekend retreat cloaked in the finest high-touch hospitality. Choose from all-inclusive estate packages, settle into luxurious bedrooms and allow Monte Ventoso’s attentive staff to spoil you and your guests. Expect your festivities to be carried out with top-tier professionalism and privacy.
Work with Monte Ventoso’s in-house events director and your preferred Charlottesville wedding planner to design a magical weekend. Curate an intimate and personalized experience, hosting a welcome party by the outdoor fireplace lounge, a zen day by the heated year-round pool, an enchanting rose pergola wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing on the scenic north hill, and a send-off brunch to cap the weekend. Onsite chefs and bartenders are at the ready to fill your every desire.
Hugged by the Blue Ridge Mountains, Monte Ventoso — Italian for “mountain of wind” and a nod to the property’s consistent gentle breezes — hosts 200 guests and sleeps14 people. The estate also hosts bachelor and bachelorette parties, elopements, proposals, engagement parties and showers. Smell the blooming roses, stargaze, take walks around the farm, dip your toes in the stream and welcome the Monte Ventoso way of life.
“People step onto the property and feel like they’ve stepped into Tuscany. They’re able to relax and unwind and just be,” Jennifer says. “Some get really inspired. Others receive a sense of healing. It’s just so peaceful here.”

Real talk with Monte Ventoso Wedding Venue Owner Jennifer Price

I love seeing couples start their lives together here. Just witnessing the love and the laughter and families joining together as one big family, it’s pretty special.

The best weddings are…

when the couple shares a deep and sincere love for one another and their families and they arrive ready to relax and enjoy all that Monte Ventoso has to offer.

My biggest piece of advice is...

to enjoy as much of the weekend al fresco as possible. Take in the sights and the feeling and the Old World Italian romance that the property offers.

A Monte Ventoso must-do is…

lounging by the pool. I think that having relaxation time before or after the wedding is important. We’ve created a very resort-like spa oasis with a year-round heated pool, hot tub and cold plunge, and a shade veranda with a bar and your own private chef and bartender.

The Location

A private estate and five-star resort set on gorgeously manicured grounds complete with an organic vegetable garden, a boxwood garden, heated pool and immaculate indoor and outdoor venue spaces.
