Deep Forested Enchantment at Avonlea Farms

Heather and Cody’s October celebration at Avonlea Farms invited in natural textures, rich abundant greenery and lakeside greenhouse magic. The autumn Charlottesville wedding fully embraced the property’s beautiful seclusion and charm, flowing from space to space with ease.

The Clarks Photo Co. captured quiet reflective moments while the groom smoothed his heather gray suit and prepared vows in the cottage. Black and white imagery stopped time for wedding party hugs and playful poses crunching on fall leaves around the tranquil pond.

The bride waited in the forest for her fiancé, wrapped in pure enchantment, floating above the green grass in her cascading fairytale dress. The couple took time to kiss, giggle, dance and dip in the woods before connecting with their closest friends for photos. Charlottesville wedding floral artists from The Freckled Flower Farm designed breathtaking bouquets and dreamy hanging reception installations inspired by autumn’s natural bounty, overflowing with deep greenery and foliage.

Planners with Events by Petals and Lace played up the 64-acre farm’s mindfully curated wedding vignettes. A simplistic and intimate ceremony unfolded beneath the 250-year-old grand oak canopy as guests smiled from al fresco wooden church pews. Loved ones gathered around the covered pavilion for first dances and moved into the vintage glass greenhouse for handcrafted artisan wood-fired pizzas from River City Wood Fire and a beautiful charcuterie board by Bite by Bite & Co. Guests’ names were written on magnolia leaves by professional calligrapher, Clarissa, owner of Ink Well Scripted and an antique mirror guided guests to their tables. Family and friends laughed, toasted and cheered from long walnut farm tables dressed in woven hemp and ivory place settings and soft blue linens.
