A Most Merry Celebration at The John Marshall Ballrooms

Peyton and Jared Barlow celebrated their December wedding at The John Marshall Ballrooms in Richmond, Virginia, where the grandeur of the historic venue set the tone for a celebration filled with holiday romance. Thoughtfully planned by Illumination Events Studio, the day unfolded with a balance of timeless elegance and festive charm in the heart of the city.

The ceremony took place in one of the venue’s soaring ballrooms, where an aisle lined with white rose petals led to arrangements of deep crimson roses, white blooms, and lush greenery by Black Creek Flowers. Fredericks Photo & Films approached the day with a refined, cinematic style, preserving each moment with softness and intention. As the couple were pronounced married, Peyton lifted her bouquet in a joyful gesture, setting the tone for the celebration ahead.

Following the ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed a lively trolley ride through downtown with Taylor’s Classic Travels before returning for a reception layered in holiday detail. Under string lights enhanced by Leap Lighting and Design, guests dined on a menu by Homemades by Suzanne at tables dressed in lace linens, deep teal napkins, gold framed numbers, mini wreaths, and candy canes.

The evening carried a playful warmth, from a gingerbread cake to a visit from Santa, before closing with a quiet rooftop moment beneath the glowing John Marshall sign, a fitting end to a celebration rooted in joy and the season’s magic.
