Modern Garden Party at Maketto

Maketto provided a one-of-a-kind setting for Jane and Jay's spring wedding, where bold florals, modern design, and vibrant city energy came together effortlessly. Rachel Kendall Events orchestrated a day that flowed seamlessly from heartfelt moments to an unforgettable evening, while Maketto paired its contemporary setting with an exceptional culinary experience.

The open-air courtyard welcomed guests for the ceremony, where a vivid palette of saffron yellow, burnt orange, magenta, lavender, and fresh green came to life through abundant floral design by Wanton Poppies. Garden roses, ranunculus, anthurium, allium, marigolds, poppies, sweet peas, and cascading amaranthus framed the ceremony, while Jane carried a lush bouquet of irises, tulips, orchids, ranunculus, and trailing moss that beautifully echoed the vibrant floral palette.

The festivities continued with a lively cocktail hour featuring fresh oysters and champagne before guests gathered inside Maketto's art-filled dining space. Marble-topped communal tables, black matte place settings, lavender taper candles, sculptural floral arrangements, and a dramatic installation behind the sweetheart table reflected the venue's modern character, while District Event Co. kept the dance floor lively throughout the evening.

As the evening unfolded, family and friends filled the dance floor while Maggie Morris documented the day through timeless imagery that beautifully balanced Maketto's urban character with the genuine moments shared throughout. Something Candid preserved every joyful chapter, from rooftop views overlooking the U.S. Capitol to the vibrant energy of H Street.
