Virginia & Lewis

On a luminous late summer day in August, Virginia and Lewis celebrated their wedding at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, where the rolling Piedmont landscape set a breathtaking stage for their intimate celebration. Verdant hills and open fields surrounded the historic estate, grounding the day in natural beauty and quiet grandeur.

The ceremony unfolded on a sweeping lawn overlooking the countryside, with rows of white chairs oriented toward the panoramic views. A soft botanical palette of white hydrangeas, delicate roses, and lush greenery framed the space, culminating in a green-and-white floral arch that felt refined yet organic. The reception followed with garden inspired elegance. Wooden cross back chairs, crisp white linens, and abundant greenery created a relaxed, elevated atmosphere beneath softly glowing string lights. Centerpieces echoed the ceremony florals, while a grazing table filled with artisan cheeses, seasonal fruits, and rustic breads offered a thoughtful nod to Monticello’s agricultural roots. A classic white cake adorned with delicate blooms completed the design.

As evening settled in, guests gathered for a sparkling sendoff beneath the night sky, closing the celebration with warmth and joy. Thoughtfully planned by Donovan-Groves Events, with floral design by Southern Blooms, cuisine by A Pimento Catering, and live music by Plum Blossom Music, the day unfolded seamlessly. Jen Fariello Photography preserved the celebration with quiet elegance.

Virginia and Lewis’s wedding was a graceful blend of history, landscape, and personal style, an unforgettable celebration set at one of Virginia’s most iconic landmarks.
