Rain-Kissed Spring Romance at Lowndes Grove

Katie & Brent
Katie and Brent were married in pure Southern splendor at Lowndes Grove in Charleston in May, and every last detail of their late spring wedding radiated with warmth, romance, and pure joy.
The ceremony was planned for the sweeping lawn, framed by a wooden arch layered in blush, lavender, and ivory blooms. Goldbug Events designed and styled the day with lush aisle florals of peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, and allium, creating a garden-forward palette that felt vibrant yet timeless. When rain began to fall, it only heightened the emotion of the moment. Brent greeted it with a radiant smile, while Katie walked down the aisle beside her parents, laughing through the spring shower.
Katie carried a garden-style bouquet of pink peonies, peach ranunculus, lavender roses, and delicate greenery, perfectly complementing her sleek ivory gown and cathedral veil. Along the river’s edge, the reception featured a long king’s table dressed in blush botanical linen, layered with abundant florals and glowing pillar candles. Lowndes Grove’s culinary team delivered a refined dining experience, while rentals and production by Lowcountry Entertainment added polish and warmth to the al fresco setting.
As evening settled in, Emerald Empire Band filled the night with high-energy celebration, keeping the dance floor packed beneath the open sky. Sacia Matthews Photography rendered the day in soft, painterly tones, balancing sweeping river views with intimate, joy-filled exchanges that brought the entire story to life.
