Mason & John

Mason and John celebrated their March wedding in Richmond, Virginia, with a day that unfolded across two of the city’s most beloved settings. The ceremony began at Maymont before the celebration continued at the stylish Quirk Hotel, creating a wedding that blended historic gardens with modern downtown charm. The ceremony took place beneath Maymont’s outdoor pergola, where stone columns and a white lattice canopy framed the couple against magnolia trees and manicured greenery. Mason wore a strapless gown with a sweeping train from Lex's of Carytown and pearl pins woven through her dark waves. Surrounded by early spring blooms, they exchanged heartfelt vows beneath the garden canopy.

Following the ceremony, portraits took full advantage of Maymont’s spring landscape, including a quiet moment beneath a star magnolia tree in full bloom. The delicate white blossoms and soft Richmond light created a dreamy backdrop that reflected the gentle arrival of the season, beautifully rendered by Amelia B. Photography.

Guests later gathered at Quirk Hotel, where cocktail hour unfolded in the glass-walled atrium courtyard. The airy space, with its whitewashed brick walls and climbing greenery, set a relaxed yet artful tone for the evening celebration. A palette of blues and purples carried through the design, with florals featuring lavender sweet peas, cobalt cornflowers, lilac roses, white ranunculus, and eucalyptus woven throughout the reception arrangements. The Quirk Hotel Richmond team led both coordination and the evening’s dining experience as guests gathered for toasts and celebration. The night concluded with a chocolate wedding cake finished with delicate shavings and a sculpted rose, a sweet moment that brought Mason and John together for a joyful cake-cutting kiss.
