A Warm & Whimsical October Wedding at The Virginia Cliffe Inn

Emily & Zach
Against the stately backdrop of The Virginia Cliffe Inn's colonial charm, this October celebration embraced autumn’s vibrant palette with effortless elegance. Bridesmaids carried exuberant bouquets of tangerine roses, sapphire delphiniums, and ivory ranunculus by Coleman Brothers Flowers, their deep navy gowns creating a stunning contrast to the season’s fiery hues.
The historic inn’s white columns and black shutters added timeless grandeur as guests gathered on manicured lawns beneath ancient oaks just beginning their autumn transformation. Harvest pumpkins and gourds were nestled among the ceremony florals, while vintage lanterns filled with crimson leaves lined the brick walkway leading to the couple’s vows. Heartfelt details added warmth, like family photographs strung with rustic twine around towering tree trunks, forming an intimate gallery of love stories that led to this moment. White folding chairs lined the aisle, adorned with eucalyptus garlands and cream ribbon, blending the couple’s refined taste with the season’s natural beauty.
The reception unfolded beneath a billowing white tent, where soft draping and golden chandeliers cast a warm glow over the celebration. Tables dressed in navy linens and accented with mahogany chairs and orange napkins created a rich autumnal palette. Rustic wood slices topped with glass cylinders held lush arrangements of coral roses, sapphire blooms, and eucalyptus. Guests enjoyed a delicious spread catered by Groovin’ Gourmets, adding to the evening’s warm and inviting atmosphere.
Dessert was as charming as the rest of the evening: a two-tier buttercream cake from Anna B’s Gluten Free was adorned with white ranunculus, orange roses, and blue thistle, paired with colorful French macarons. Music by Blue Note DJ kept the celebration lively, with guests dancing late into the night. As the evening came to a close, the couple’s send-off unfolded beneath a canopy of twinkling string lights, with hundreds of iridescent bubbles floating through the air like magical snowfall.
Every meaningful moment was artfully preserved by Amelia B. Photography, with second shooter RVA Film Works, and beautifully filmed by Justin Bayless Media, ensuring the joy and beauty of the day would live on for years to come.
