Classic Spring Elegance at George Washington Masonic National Memorial

Erica & Ian
Erica and Ian’s love story unfolded in timeless spring style across two iconic Alexandria settings, blending a heartfelt church ceremony with a celebration at George Washington Masonic National Memorial. From the joyful moments shared with family and friends to the elegant blue and white palette woven throughout the day, every detail felt classic, romantic, and full of life, with Two Swan Events bringing the celebration together with effortless elegance.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered inside the Memorial’s magnificent hall, where soaring coffered ceilings, marble columns, warm pendant lighting, and the iconic bronze statue of George Washington created a breathtaking setting for the reception. Tables dressed in crisp white linens featured cheerful arrangements of tulips, hydrangeas, delphinium, and greenery displayed in blue and white chinoiserie vessels, while candlelight added a warm glow throughout the grand space.
Floral design by Helen Olivia Flowers became one of the celebration’s defining elements, most notably in a dramatic installation cascading across the Memorial’s grand marble staircase. Layers of blue delphinium, hydrangeas, stock, calla lilies, and lush greenery transformed the historic interior into a garden inspired setting, while the sweetheart table and botanical wedding cake echoed the same refined palette of blue, white, and soft green. Stephanie Messick frames the day with a bright, refined perspective that highlights both the grandeur of the historic setting and the joyful moments shared throughout the celebration, while second shooter Omar & Co. helped preserve the many layers of the day as they unfolded.
As the evening came to a close, Erica and Ian made their way through the Memorial’s impressive brass doors surrounded by cheering guests, ending the celebration with the same joyful energy that carried throughout the day. The result was a wedding that felt elegant, vibrant, and beautifully suited to spring in Alexandria.
