Immaculate Southern Charm at The Governor Thomas Bennett House

Nina and Ray’s early May wedding at The Governor Thomas Bennett House stunned in glorious spring blooms, ancient oaks and stately white décor and architecture. Charleston wedding planners Pure Luxe Bride crafted a gorgeous day, beginning with a pristine ceremony wrapped around the brick courtyard’s classic pineapple fountain and backed by the historic circa 1825 venue.

Dynamic husband-wife team and coveted Charleston wedding photographers with Kailee Dimeglio documented the black tie day in film and digital imagery, capturing the couple’s authenticity, expression and joy. Photographers caught everything from the groom’s black lapeled suit collar stitched with the special date to the bride’s modern plunging lace gown, using the historic Southern home’s magnificent landscape to set timeless scenes.

Flora’s talented designers styled romantic garden arrangements in a sunny, cheerful canary, rose and peach palette, elevating the bride’s natural sprawling bouquet in ivory and white. Deep lush installations draped the ceremony fountain and the grand tented reception space flecked with birdcage lighting.

Stylish allure radiated in the groom’s peacock bowtie, the bride’s breathtaking ivory gown and bridesmaids’ nontraditional chic white dresses. Salthouse Catering served local, seasonal and delightful dishes while Snyder Events and EventWorks set the flourishing spring tone in tender crochet table linens, powder blue napkins, gold flatware and slim blue candlesticks, with elaborate cocktail hour chandeliers and white vintage sofas cloaking the al fresco cocktail hour.
