March Brass and Brick at The Wool Factory

Urban industrial refinement and soothing woodsy dashes set the tone for Kelli and Sean’s March Charlottesville wedding at The Wool Factory. Expert planners with Laurel Elise Events enhanced the day with everything from monogrammed matchbooks to a special photo session with the couple’s adorable pups.

Stylish modern touches played out in his golden cufflinks and trim-cut black suit, her flattering lace floral gown and deep emerald bridesmaids’ gowns. The reinvented Historic Woolen Mills property welcomed guests to a spacious outdoor courtyard ceremony, flowing into the airy main event hall reception space. Festive bistro lighting illuminated the spring wedding as the bride made a grand entrance from above the courtyard, floating down from the sunlit trees.

Famed Charlottesville wedding photographer Tom Daly Photography documented the day, finding mossy textured backdrops and playing with artful light and shadows under the train trestle. His sharp lens caught the sweetest flock of five flower girls in white lace and tulle, the groom’s glimmering gold Nike dancing shoes and real-life emotion as the couple shared belly laughs and private tears along with a sunset we-did-it toast in front of the property’s iconic brick and water tower backdrop.

Floral designers with Steelcut Flower Co. complemented the couple’s tasteful modern aesthetic with dramatic deep magenta and soft ivory and blush blooms spraying in wild organic beauty and juxtaposing the rugged spring landscape. Wild white and ivory ceremony floral installations framed the courtyard alter space and raw twig and vine tablescapes added forested hints alongside classic stemware, white china, brass flatware and creamy sand linens by MS Events.

The Wool Factory catering team created a fresh feast designed around peak-season local ingredients and regional wines. Plates of homemade brownies, dancing, toasts and lots of hugs from family and friends crowned the celebration.
