October in Full Color at The Barns at Mattaponi Springs

Alex & Jake
October brought rich autumn color to Alex and Jake's wedding at The Barns at Mattaponi Springs in Ruther Glen, Virginia. Fiery orange, deep red, and soft blue echoed the changing landscape and carried a warm seasonal palette throughout the day.
The couple exchanged vows in the venue's wooded ceremony setting, where an arbor was layered with burnt orange, burgundy, dusty blue, and cream florals by Vogue Flowers. Wooden chairs lined the grassy aisle beneath string lights and tall trees, while Alex carried a loose arrangement of garden roses, anemones, thistle, and mums. Jake's orange ranunculus boutonniere finished with blue thistle echoed the same autumn palette.
The celebration moved into the barn, where string lights and flowing white draping brought warmth to the wood interiors. Tables layered with rust red linens and vintage lace featured mismatched candleholders, doilies, and petite floral arrangements. As evening settled in, the barn doors opened to views of the surrounding countryside and lake before RVA DJ Sandma brought guests to the dance floor.
Amelia B. Photography leans into the rich autumn colors and candid energy of the day, with RVA Film Works adding another perspective through film. As the evening settled in, Alex and Jake spent the final hours of their wedding celebrating with family and friends beneath the string lights at The Barns at Mattaponi Springs.
