Romance in the Mist at The Indigo House

Ashley & Yushi

A misty May morning brought Ashley and Yushi to The Indigo House in Afton, Virginia, where low clouds settled across the surrounding mountains and gave their spring celebration a quiet, atmospheric feel. Lauren Stroupe-Cubbage Weddings & Events guided the day as the couple embraced the weather, stepping out for portraits against the fog covered landscape.

The ceremony took place outdoors, framed by greenery and clusters of blush and burgundy blooms from Horse & Hen. Ashley and Yushi exchanged vows with mist drifting across the mountains behind them, allowing the changing weather and Blue Ridge setting to become a natural part of the ceremony.

The reception paired creamy linens with forest green napkins and table settings from Posey Picnics & Designs Rentals, including woven rattan chargers, vintage floral china, gold flatware, and jewel toned glassware. Horse & Hen carried the deeper palette into centerpieces of burgundy calla lilies, blush garden roses, snapdragons, and trailing greenery, while hand folded origami cranes at each place setting offered a personal nod to Yushi's heritage.

Tradition carried into the evening with a Japanese sake ceremony shared with loved ones before dinner and toasts. Fae & Forest Photography leans into the misty conditions with an atmospheric approach that makes the Blue Ridge landscape a defining part of the gallery. As the celebration came to a close, guests gathered for a bubble send off as Ashley and Yushi ran through the crowd hand in hand, ending their May wedding on a joyful note.
