Tropical Modern Romance at Above ALX Community

Spring welcomed Nicole and Ryan to Above ALX Community for a May wedding where a fresh, modern palette set the tone for the celebration. Shades of sage green, warm rattan, crisp white, and rich dark accents carried throughout the design.

Guests gathered on the rooftop terrace, where Chiavari chairs lined the aisle beneath an open air pergola overlooking the Alexandria skyline. Kas Flowers Shop carried the modern palette throughout the celebration with lush arrangements of deep green foliage, crisp white blooms, tropical greenery, white anthuriums, calla lilies, and dendrobium orchids, framing both the ceremony and reception with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.

The celebration continued inside, where warm wood finishes and modern interiors created an intimate setting for the reception. Tables dressed in patterned ivory linens featured woven fringe chargers, sage green napkins, and hand calligraphed place cards finished with green tassels, while the sweetheart table was framed by bold monstera leaves against the venue's walnut wood wall.

Personal touches throughout the reception reflected the couple's story and family heritage. A curated display featured garments honoring both families' cultural roots, with a green floral Filipino dress representing Nicole's heritage displayed alongside a sleek black coat honoring Ryan's African American heritage. Vintage family photographs, a rattan peacock chair, and a display sharing the couple's love story and family histories completed the installation. Bundy's World and Too Much Talent Band kept guests on the dance floor throughout the day before Nicole and Ryan celebrated with a lively bubble and confetti send off, a colorful finale to their Alexandria spring wedding.
