Claire & Connor
A Breathtaking Montalto Mountaintop Ceremony
Claire and Connor’s sunny mountaintop nuptials stretched into the blue October sky high above Charlottesville. Thomas Jefferson’s beloved 1908 American country home and stately property Montalto at Monticello set the magnificent October scene with brilliant 360-degree panoramic views and imperial dashes of history.
Charlottesville wedding planners Donovan-Groves Events showcased the private estate’s beauty with ceremony field vows, a terraced cocktail hour under green and golden trees, and a cake cutting and first dance on the property’s al fresco terrace overlooking twinkling city lights. Romantic intentional imagery by Charlottesville wedding photographers from Amative Creative highlighted Montalto’s legendary pink and orange sunsets, touching mother-daughter moments, the bride’s modern modest dress and antique pearls; and a loving mountainside first look, her fixing a strand of his hair and him gently kissing her cheek.
The couple walked the private estate, flecks of fall color speckling the landscape, a wedding party flanked them in forest green dresses and sleek grey suits. Floral designers from The Dogwood Tree crafted stunning fall bouquets of sunflowers, daisies, pink roses and touches of crimson, ivory and yellow with wild interwoven greenery. A spherical floral arbor and fall reception notes in fern and floating candle table centerpieces accentuated the bountiful natural tone.
Charlottesville wedding caterer The Catering Outfit delighted guests with butlered hors d’oeuvres of stuffed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts and bruschetta before serving farm salads and a plated multi-course dinner among cream and persimmon linens, bone white china and classic elegant glassware. An impressive towering three-tier wedding cake decked in colorful berries and blooms followed by dancing under the stars capped the evening.
