Autumn Charleston Charisma at the Governor Thomas Bennett House

Kelly and Dustin’s festive October wedding at the Governor Thomas Bennett House ushered in autumn in a warming copper and dusty rose palette. Floral designer Tiger Lily Weddings built artistic climbing installations displaying the prowess of fall’s bounty through native greenery and foliage mingling with ivory, rustic orange and soft burnt sand florals. A breathtaking hanging reception piece and vertical table centerpieces were offset by the property’s crisp fall gardens.

Cascading blooms flowed from the historic Southern home’s iconic pineapple fountain and bridesmaids wore rich copper gowns while groomsmen donned a mix of deep blue and khaki. Planners with A. Caldwell Events orchestrated an intimate private first look wrapped in verdant palm and shrubbery followed by a Crescent Garden ceremony under 200-year-old moss-draped oaks.

Legendary wedding photographer duo Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay called on the home’s one-of-a-kind architecture to create artistic doorway and long brick-lined porch couple shots. Wrought-iron fencing, ornamental molding and a floating staircase were not lost on the talented photographers as they showcased their signature blend of historic meets edgy-mod imagery.

Hospitality pros with MIX Bartending and Cru Catering set up an outdoor bar and served delightful cocktail hour bites followed by a memorable seated dinner and a divine doughnut bar in the majestic courtyard tent. Charleston wedding rentals and décor by Event WorksFrench EclecticSnyderBBJ Rentals and Lowcountry Entertainment painted a lively vibe balanced by warm spaces set in plush tangerine and dusty rose furnishings, vintage rugs and antique brass tables and rustic linens set on polished wood farm tables.
