September Grace at James Monroe Highland

Alexandra and Hayden’s September wedding at James Monroe Highland came together in a beautiful late summer meets early autumn soiree. The bride’s intricate long-sleeved lace gown and traditional flowing white veil stunned next to her groom’s polished black tuxedo as the couple shared their vows in an outdoor ceremony on the vibrant Blue Ridge Lawn.

Charlottesville wedding photographer Meredith McKown showcased the venue’s natural forested aesthetic, leading a picturesque newlywed photo shoot along the property's white picket fences, strolling the tree-lined entryway and curating a peaceful bride and groom portrait session as the season’s first leaves fell to the green grass. The fall celebration welcomed the sweetest flower girls with wildflower bouquets and the couple’s joyful baby girl smiling and in her white dress.

The bride carried a bountiful ivory and buttercream bouquet wrapped in abundant greenery and vintage lanterns lined the ceremony aisle. James Monroe Highland’s tranquil grounds and stunning gardens made for the perfect hospitable backdrop, overseeing close-knit family hugs and laughs. Cocktail hour on the lawn hosted a colorful fruit display, mini biscuit sandwiches and wine as guests made their way into the banquet hall for a buffet-style dinner of autumn vegetables, fresh country bread and roasted chicken and beef. Dancing ensued under soft twinkling strung lighting and white candlelight flickered on delicate decor and soft roses.
