Southern Garden Grace at William Aiken House

Poise and style with lively floral splashes swathed Lea and Grant’s October wedding at William Aiken House. The vivacious soiree welcomed guests to lavish comforts across the iconic yellow mansion’s artful gardens, old world piazzas and sunlit courtyards. Nestled in the heart of downtown's Upper King Street Design District, the historic 1807 home delivered sprawling indoor and outdoor celebration space among grand ornamental décor and architecture, remarkable antiques and artwork and expansive private courtyards centered around a 200-year-old magnolia tree.

Famed Charleston floral designers Tupelo Honey Flower Shop & Co. elevated the garden theme across lush ceremony and centerpiece blooms, yawning potted ferns and cascading greenery. Intricate flowering details in rich shades of blue and green made appearances in bridal party dresses, personalized place setting menus and monogrammed matchbooks and napkins.

Charleston wedding photographer Kailee Dimeglio captured imagery from every angle, including impressive courtyard and mansion drone footage. Her lens eloquently told the day’s story through a graceful smiling father-daughter dance under glowing bistro lighting, a loving brick courtyard ceremony and a private marriage license signing in the stately parlor. Catering by the revered Patrick Properties culinary team wowed guests during the al fresco cocktail hour and reception dinner and the newlyweds emerged in fresh white party attire and joined a lively dance floor scene where flips, dips, the worm and air guitar all made appearances.

An essential late-night stop by the American Theater welcomed a kiss under the marquee announcing Lea and Grant’s wedding date and their hashtag, #happilyeverallen.
